About

The Beginning

CSC Towing was founded in 1974 by Kenneth Winter. Originally named Chester Service Center, CSC was first located in Chester, Minnesota, where the current Conoco gas station resides.

Kenneth Winter started CSC as only a gas station and repair facility. However, due to a high number of vehicles needing repair work and roadside assistance, Mr. Winter bought a tow truck to accommodate clients of Chester Service Center.

Ten Years Later

Ten years later, in 1984, enormous requests for towing and roadside assistance prompted Mr. Winter to relocate Chester Service Center to Rochester, Minnesota, where it currently operates today.

Over many years, Mr. Winter continuously expanded the towing operation by purchasing tow trucks and flatbeds to accommodate new and existing customers.

Mr. Winter later designated the name of the company to “CSC Towing” for all emergency roadside services. He established the name of the repair facility to “The Brake Shop,” specializing in brake and muffler repair.

In October 2001, Christopher Kent was able to purchase CSC Towing.

Today

Since then, The Brake Shop has expanded and now performs general automotive repair to extensive repair services with ASE Certified Mechanics.

Also, CSC has expanded tremendously and provided emergency roadside assistance for numerous customers, motor clubs, and local businesses.

Today, CSC continues to be a well-known and well-respected towing and automotive repair company in the Rochester community.

CSC Towing is and shall remain one of the largest towing companies in Southeastern Minnesota, providing services within a 100-mile radius and occasionally beyond.
